I hope the beginning of camp is as exciting for you as it is for me, we finally have our favorite football team on the field (kinda) with all the starters returning (except the injured ones) so to me it’s an exciting time no matter where the Vikings hold training camp. A brand new season is upon us with new and lofty expectations so let’s get to it. Just a word from me though, as some of you know I work in healthcare and split my time between here and work. Recently politics has started slipping back into the thread; as all of you should be aware I don’t care what your political leanings are, I follow and enforce the rules, there now we can be friends again.
Around the DN since our last thread:
Eric writes that Pat Elflein will start training camp on the physically unable to perform list due to last season’s injury.
RB Dalvin Cook is cleared for practice and isn’t wearing a brace per Skelly10.
Chris brings us the news that rookie DT Jalyn Holmes is back to 100% after a hand fracture during OTA’s.
Vikings news from other sources:
Three observations: the running backs get an opportunity at the 3rd RB spot.
Seven rookies to keep an eye on during training camp.
From NFL.com the Browns have discussed adding Dez Bryant with WR Josh Gordon absent from training camp.
QB Carson Wentz will not start the season on the PuP but will be limited.
We come to today’s media selection: Thin Lizzy-The Boys are Back in Town
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, try the venison chili and as always, Welcome Aboard and Skol Vikings!
