When the Minnesota Vikings host the San Francisco 49ers to kick off the 2018 NFL season at U.S. Bank Stadium, the visiting team will be without one of their better defensive players.
According to our friends at Niners Nation. . .and other sources, but hey, NN is one of us. . .linebacker Reuben Foster has been suspended for two games by the National Football League.
Foster has had quite the adventurous offseason, to say the least. He was arrested in Alabama back in January for marijuana possession. He was then arrested again in February, this time on much more serious charges. . .domestic violence, making criminal threats, and weapon possession. His accuser admitted under oath to fabricating the incident that led to the domestic violence charges, and Foster wound up pleading no contest to a misdemeanor on the gun charge.
Foster will still be allowed to practice with the team and play in the preseason, but he will be out of the Niners first two games. That means he won’t be available for Kyle Shanahan’s team for the regular season opener.
