Diggs will remain with the Vikings through 2023.

Coming in to training camp, there were two big player personnel questions that had to be answered, LB Anthony Barr and WR Stefon Diggs.

A short while ago, one of those questions has been answered, although we had been told right before camp that probably wasn’t going to happen.

Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Stefon Diggs has signed a five year extension to stay with the Minnesota Vikings:

Contract details have yet to be reported, and as soon as we get those the story will be updated. But, Diggs is done. Now, for Anthony Barr.

With Diggs locked up for five more years, and hashtags all over social media presumably moving from #PayDiggs to #PaidDiggs, the Vikings now have the following players under contract through 2020, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network:

That’s a heck of a core group to have together for that long a period of time in today’s NFL. And depending on the deal, it’s yet another feather in the cap of the Vikings front office staff.

Not a bad way to start a Tuesday, is it kids?

EDIT: Per Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune, the average annual salary for Diggs is expected to fall right in the $14 mil/yr range.

EDIT THE SECOND: Chris Tomasson reports it’s in the $70 million dollar range, and will begin next year:

EDIT THE FINAL:

Diggs’ contract looks to be 5 years with $40 million guaranteed. Schefter and Rapaport are reporting slightly different numbers on total value, it appears, but they both agree on the $40 million guaranteed. Bottom line is, he got paid:

Happy Tuesday, kids.
