A short while ago, multiple outlets reported that Vikings WR Cayleb Jones has been arrested on theft and domestic assault charges, and is currently in the Dakota County jail.
According to arrest records, Cayleb Jones was arrested at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday by Eagan PD on 3 charges: felony-level theft, misdemeanor domestic assault and for interfering w/ a 911 call. He's due in court tomorrow at 12 p.m.— Courtney Cronin (@CourtneyRCronin) August 29, 2018
Minnesota VIkings GM Rick Spielman released a statement that says:
We are aware of the situation involving Cayleb Jones and are in the process of gathering more information. Further comment will be provided at the appropriate time.
Jones was fighting for one of the last WR spots on the Vikings 53 man roster, and was already swimming upstream because he is going to begin the season suspended four games for violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing drugs.
I’ll be stunned if Jones is a member of the Minnesota Vikings for much longer.
Still, we’ll keep you posted on events as they develop.
