Vikings Roster Cuts: Minnesota Vikings release Kareem Are

Another offensive lineman meets the Turk

NFL: Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

As a part of their first wave of cuts on Friday afternoon, the Minnesota Vikings released several offensive linemen as a part of their efforts to decide who will make the 53-man roster.

One of those players was guard Kareem Are. Are had not been with the team for very long, as he was signed in mid-August following the rash of injuries the Vikings suffered in their preseason loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Are, who went undrafted out of Florida State in 2017, has also spent time with the Oakland Raiders. He didn’t see much action for the Vikings in the couple of games that he was with the team, and it’s unlikely that he’s going to be brought back to the practice squad.

We will continue bring you each member of the Vikings that gets cut on the way to the team finalizing their 53-man roster. That deadline is less than 24 hours away, so be sure to keep it right here to keep up with the latest.
