Vikings Roster Cuts: Minnesota Vikings release Jeff Badet

He could be a candidate for the practice squad

We’re getting closer to the 53-man roster deadline for the Minnesota Vikings (and 31 other NFL teams that don’t matter quite as much). We’re getting word of another cut to the Vikings’ wide receiver corps.

According to Darren Wolfson of KSTP, the Vikings will be releasing wide receiver Jeff Badet.

Badet started his college career at Kentucky, but eventually transferred to Oklahoma. He went undrafted this past season, and was not invited to the Scouting Combine, but he made waves at Oklahoma’s Pro Day when he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.27 seconds.

Badet is thought to be a practice squad candidate because of his speed and his ability to potentially be a force in the return game, but we’ll have to see how that shakes out.

More cuts are coming for the Vikings as we’re now about two and a half hours away from the roster deadline. Keep track of all of today’s moves right here at The Daily Norseman!
