It appears that the Minnesota Vikings have made the final cut to their linebacking corps en route to getting their roster down to 53 players.
Per numerous sources, the Vikings have parted ways with linebacker Garret Dooley.
Dooley was undrafted out of the University of Wisconsin, and signed with the Vikings in the post-draft signing frenzy. It was going to be an uphill battle for him to make the 53-man roster, but there’s a chance that he could be a practice squad candidate.
With that, it appears that the Vikings are done trimming the linebacker corps. The fifth linebacker spot now belongs to seventh-round pick Devante Downs, who will join Anthony Barr, Eric Kendricks, Ben Gedeon, and Eric Wilson in the Vikings’ linebacker room.
