We’re getting word of another mildly surprising cut from the Minnesota Vikings, and this one involves a veteran wide receiver.
The #Vikings are expected to release WR Kendall Wright, source said. They signed him in March as an option in the slot, but Laquon Treadwell’s strong preseason allowed Adam Thielen to move inside more. Odd man out.

Per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Minnesota Vikings will be releasing wide receiver Kendall Wright, who was expected to compete for the #3 receiver spot.
Wright, a former first-round pick of the Tennessee Titans, was signed by the Vikings this offseason following a 2017 season that saw him lead the Chicago Bears in receiving yardage. When he was signed, many. . .myself included. . .assumed that he would be the team’s third wide receiver, but reports surfaced during OTAs that he was struggling a bit, and he had a pretty rough Training Camp as well.
With that, the Vikings appear to have finalized their wide receiver corps. Joining the best 1-2 receiver duo in the NFL in Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen will be Laquon Treadwell, Brandon Zylstra, and Stacy Coley.
We still have a few more Vikings’ moves that we’re waiting on before the 53-man roster deadline, so make sure you’re tracking all of the moves here!
