We’re past the final deadline for NFL teams to cut their rosters down to 53 players, but we’re still waiting for the final news to trickle in.
One of the last players released by the team is cornerback Horace Richardson. He is being waived with an injury designation, which means that if he clears waivers he will go on the Vikings’ Injured Reserve list.
Richardson was in his second Training Camp with the Vikings this year, as he joined the team as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Methodist University following the 2017 draft. He spent the 2017 season on the team’s practice squad, and just couldn’t do enough to carve his name into a very crowded cornerback depth chart in Minnesota.
No indication yet one way or another if the team plans to bring Richardson back to the practice squad again. After all, Mike Zimmer has indicated that you can never have too many cornerbacks, and Richardson has shown some promise over the time he’s been with the Vikings.
Once again, we’re waiting for word of the last few Minnesota Vikings’ roster moves to come in, but we’ll continue bringing them to you right here.
