It’s tough to classify a Week 2 game a “must win,” but this week’s matchup at Lambeau Field between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers might fall under that heading. Both teams are 1-0 and will be looking to take the reigns in the NFC North early on in this 2018 season.
We know what happened with both of these teams on Sunday. The Vikings harassed Jimmy Garoppolo all afternoon long, forcing him into three interceptions and causing four San Francisco 49ers turnovers overall en route to a 24-16 victory at U.S. Bank Stadium. Kirk Cousins was solid in his Minnesota debut, completing 20-of-36 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns, and Adam Thielen went over 100 yards in the season opener for the purple.
At Lambeau Field, the Packers found themselves trailing the Chicago Bears by 17 points in the fourth quarter of play. After missing part of the first half with a knee injury, Aaron Rodgers came back and completed three touchdown passes and the Green Bay defense managed to hold on just long enough to allow the Packers to emerge with a 24-23 victory on Sunday Night Football.
As of now, there hasn’t been any word on whether or not Rodgers will be playing on Sunday afternoon, as he apparently suffered an MCL sprain in the game against Chicago. You can be assured that if he can go, he’s going to be out there looking for revenge after what happened last season.
It’s going to be an interesting one at Lambeau Field on Sunday afternoon in any case, ladies and gentlemen, and we’ll have all of the information you’ll need to make sure you’re prepared for this one right here at The Daily Norseman. We hope that you enjoy!
