The Bills PR folks had a bit of a geography problem

They were not feeling Minnesota

For the most part, the people that make up public relations staffs in the National Football League seem to be pretty good folks. They’ve always got facts and stats at the ready and they often take the brunt of bad moods from players and coaches. It’s a thankless job, and while I know that the Minnesota Vikings’ PR staff is great. . .they did win a major award, after all. . .I assume that other PR staffs are high-quality folks, too.

So, in sharing this, there is no malice. . .just an opportunity to get a little bit of a chuckle. We’re not laughing at anyone, but hopefully laughing with them instead.

On Saturday, the Buffalo Bills’ PR staff put together a graphic showing how many miles their team needed to travel to face the Vikings, their opponent this week. However, their graphic had a bit of an issue.

See, the Bills’ jet in the picture starts in the right place, which is good. Unfortunately, it does not end in the right place, as it shows the plane landing in. . .shudders. . .Wisconsin.

I’m no geography major or anything, but Minneapolis is not in Wisconsin.

The Bills’ PR folks eventually took the video down, which is why the tweet above is from someone that captured the original and not from them.

It’s an honest mistake, certainly. After all, they only have to make this trip once every eight years. But, like I said, it’s still pretty good for a bit of a laugh.
