(Hat tip to The Viking Age, who had this one before we did.)
Earlier this week, as part of their ongoing coaching shuffle, the Minnesota Vikings announced that they were parting ways with wide receivers coach Darrell Hazell. Hazell, the former head coach at Purdue University, had been with the Vikings for the past two seasons. Usually, that in and of itself would be a big enough story.
What happened next, courtesy of an Instagram post from a site called Minnesota Sports News, might be an even bigger story.
If you flip through the comments of this particular Instagram post, you’ll eventually see this:

As it turns out, the Instagram account “randygmoss” does, in fact, belong to the Randy Moss. No. . .not the horse racing guy from NBC, but THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Randy Moss. Seriously, it’s verified and everything.
Can you imagine what it would be like to have Randy Moss on the Vikings’ sidelines coaching wide receivers? I know the hype would be tremendous, that’s for sure.
I’m not sure just how serious that Moss was about this, though. While I think he’d probably be a hell of a coach, he has got a pretty sweet gig going at ESPN. On the other hand, even after being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, maybe the itch is coming back to get into the game again in some capacity.
I’d have to think that if Moss really wanted the job, the Wilf family could work something out with him to that end. I’d be pretty surprised if it were to happen, but then I’ve been surprised before, and this surprise would be an awfully nice one.
