There are only four meaningful quarters of football left to be played in the 2018-19 NFL season. But before that, we’ll get four fairly meaningless quarters on Sunday in Orlando, when the Pro Bowl is set to take place.
And before that, we’ll get the opportunity to witness the Pro Bowl Skills Challenge, and one of the Pro Bowlers for the Minnesota Vikings will be one of those showing off his skills.
Wide receiver Adam Thielen will be part of the NFC team for this year’s Pro Bowl Skills Challenge. The teams were just released a short time ago.
The rosters for the #ProBowlSkills Showdown are set! See the game’s biggest stars in action.

While this may invoke memories of the old-school NFL Quarterback Challenge, this competition is a bit different since there are numerous different positions being represented by each side. From the league’s official website, here’s what the challenge will consist of:
The skills competition has featured thrilling events testing the specific skills of football’s greatest players, including catching footballs dropped by remote-controlled drones. This year’s competition -- er, showdown -- includes the 40 Yard Splash (“a new challenge that puts teamwork to the test as players participate in a football-inspired take on a fire bucket brigade”), Gridiron Gauntlet (a football-inspired relay race), Precision Passing (self-explanatory), Best Hands (you get the drift), and EPIC PRO BOWL DODGEBALL (presented by Skittles).
I think we can safely assume that Thielen will be a part of the “Best Hands” competition. . .at least I would hope that he would be. Is he going to be out there playing dodgeball or anything else? We’ll have to wait and find out.
The 2019 Pro Bowl Skills Showdown will be aired on ESPN at 8:00 PM Central time on Thursday night.
