Ladies and gentlemen, if you wanted confirmation that we’ve officially reached the offseason, here it is.
Earlier today, a disagreement on Twitter somehow got to the point where Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr wound up challenging ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith to a fight.
Not a war of words, but an actual, honest-to-goodness fight. In the octagon.
Now, the odds of such a fight actually occurring are exceedingly low, even though some sportsbooks have actually posted odds on such a hypothetical matchup. But it did get me to thinking. . .and, since it’s the offseason and things are kind of dead for Minnesota Vikings fans right now, I’m verbalizing it here.
Which member of the Minnesota Vikings do you think would fare best in UFC if they were given the opportunity to hone their fighting skills?
The easy choice, for me anyway, is Danielle Hunter. Why? Seriously, look at the guy.

Like you wouldn’t soil yourself just knowing that this guy was coming to the octagon with the intention of inflicting a great deal of pain upon you.
For a less obvious choice, I don’t think you could underestimate Stefon Diggs. He’s not the biggest guy, but with all that quickness, he’d certainly pose a headache for anyone that he was matched up again.
But, this was one of the things that popped into my head while waiting to watch Adam Thielen take part in the Pro Bowl Skills Challenge. What do you think, folks?
