Weekend Open Thread

Good Morning!

It looks like a cold front has swept through most of the US, if you’re affected I hope you’re able to stay warm, (it’s 41 here this morning which is complete and utter nonsense IMO). Had I been off work this weekend I probably would have dragged mrs_rob with me to the Pro Bowl to what it’s all about and try and get some pictures of Vikings players down in Orlando...but of course, I’m working. As we get closer to Game of Thrones I’ll be posting more Harry Potter clips (inside joke here) from previous seasons, if you haven’t been watching Game of Thrones, catch up as it’s going to be a glorious final ride with entire threads full of spoiler tags. I’ll catch up on our NFC North opponents next week, time to carry on with our news and links open thread full of beer recommendations, nap strategies, crock pot and smoker recipes. Fire up the mock drafts and drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and have some delicious bacon.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Lucas gets an early offseason look at free agency: Ty Nsekhe.
(yes he can play gourd before you ask)

Our own Eric Thompson guest hosted On The Zone Coverage Football Machine.

Vikings news from other sources and news from around the rest of the league:

From WR Adam Thielen was wired for sound during Friday’s practice at the Pro Bowl.

Pro Bowl Notebook: WR Adam Thielen, LB Anthony Barr enjoying repeat Pro Bowl appearances.

Expert Takes: Biggest question facing the Vikings in 2019.

From Matthew Coller at The future of the Vikings, Part 2: Running backs.

Courtney Cronin at the ESPN NFC North Blog Vikings’ Anthony Barr will let free agency ‘dictate itself

From the Bears sign K Redford Jones to compete with Parkey.

Adam Vinatieri headed back to Indy on 1-year deal.

We come to today’s media selection: Letterkenny - Super Cold Open
(bad words in here yo)

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, try the Tears of Our Rivals™ and as always, Welcome Aboard!

If you were the GM of the Vikings how would you address the offensive line this offseason? (keep in mind you’re on the final year of your current contract)
