It’s day six of the off-season and the rumor mill is just getting started. Lots of decisions are going to be made in the coming months which will directly impact the direction of the franchise. With games scheduled this weekend for the teams that are actually good, the off season isn’t in full swing yet but it’s getting there. Meanwhile, we’ll continue with our news and links open thread full of beer recommendations, nap strategies, crock pot and smoker recipes. Fire up the mock drafts and drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and a room temperature beer.
Around the DN since our last thread:
From SB Nation; How confident (or not) NFL fans were about their teams in the 2018 season, ours looks like a yo-yo.
Vikings news from other sources:
Lunchbreak: Former Vikings Guard Steve Hutchinson among 15 modern-era finalists for 2019 HOF Class.
The Aftermath: People should not give up on the Vikings long-term.
At 1500espn Matthew Coller notes Mike Zimmer’s offseason task: Find the Vikings’ edge.
Running down potential offensive coordinator candidates for the Vikings.
The Vikings have a deep offseason checklist.
NFC North Roundup:
Consistent with the weekend news and links I’ll post league news in the comments.
We come to today’s media selection: Billy Squier - My Kinda Lover (by request)
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, try the fried okra, and enjoy your mediocre beer and be angry, you’ll fit right in.
What should the Vikings do for the OC position and Stefanski before his contract expires on Tuesday?
This poll is closed
Make him the OC before his contract expires.
Let him test the waters with another team.
Don’t lose a good coach and extend him another position within the team (assistant OC)
Don’t let his contract situation dictate the decision from doing due diligence on off-season coaching hires.
