A big win over a good opponent yesterday, our offense looked better than it has in quite some time.

Happy Monday, everyone!

Hey, was that a fun game to watch or what? The offense was moving the ball, the defense was doing what the defense does, and the Vikings were in control of the game from the start. We knew going in that it was going to be difficult to run the ball against the Philly defense, so the team needed the quarterback to step up, and.......he did! Cousins had a great game yesterday. He was aggressive, he came through in crucial spots, he hit some deep balls, and he had full control of the offense all day. It was a lot of fun to watch.

I was supposed to be at the game, but mother nature decided to remind us that we live in North Dakota and dumped a foot & a half of snow on us. Some parts of the state got more. Interstate was shut down, and flight delays at the airport pushed schedules back, and tickets were non-existent. They finally opened the interstate on Saturday night, so I decided to give it a try. I made it about 100 miles, each mile progressively worse than the last. I averaged about 30 miles per hour for the last 50 miles, and saw dozens of cars, pickups, and 18-wheelers in the ditches, some of them on their sides or upside down. I’m not sure why they drive in the ditch, I’ve always found the road to be a better option, but what do I know? Anyway, that was as far as I went. The fam and I are thinking of hitting the Broncos or Redskins game since we missed this one. At least I got to watch it at home.

It’s time for our open thread tradition for the day after a win. STRIKE UP THE BAND!

We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

  • No discussion of politics or religion
  • No feeding of the trolls
  • Leave the gender hatred at the door
  • Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
  • Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
  • No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
  • If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
  • While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t tip the cows don’t forget to tip your waitress, and try the grilled eagle.
