On Thursday, the folks from FedEx announced that Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback Kirk Cousins had been named the winner of their Air Player of the Week Award for Week 6 of the NFL season.
Cousins had been nominated for his outstanding performance in the Vikings’ 38-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles this past Sunday. He completed 22-of-29 passes on the afternoon for 333 yards and four touchdowns, three of which went to Stefon Diggs. It was his second consecutive 300-yard performance and the best game he’s put together this season.
The award makes the Vikings one of two NFL teams that have had a player win both the Ground and Air Awards from FedEx this season. Running back Dalvin Cook won the Ground Award for the Vikings in Week 2. The Baltimore Ravens are the other team that has both awards this season, but they were both won by the same player. . .Lamar Jackson won the Air Award in Week 1 and was named the winner of the Ground Award this week.
For winning the award, FedEx will be donating $2,000 in Kirk Cousins’ name to the USO through their FedEx Cares charity.
Congratulations to Kirk Cousins on winning this week’s FedEx Air Player of the Week Award! Hopefully it won’t be the last one he gets in 2019.
