There was a time, not all that long ago, where the Minnesota Vikings were so worried about their kicking situation that they traded a draft choice for a guy that didn’t even make the final roster.
Whether that served to help the incumbent, Dan Bailey, or not can be debated, but what can’t be debated is that Bailey appears to have found his old form again.
For the second time this season, Bailey has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. He received the award for his performance in the Vikings’ 19-9 victory over the Washington Redskins on Thursday Night Football.
In Minnesota’s victory, Bailey went 4-for-4 on field goals, connecting from 50, 29, 27, and 40-yard attempts. He was also good on his only extra point attempt of the evening.
Bailey received his first award for this season in the Vikings’ Week 5 victory over the New York Giants. He was 4-for-4 on field goal attempts in that one as well.
Congratulations to Dan Bailey on being named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this year!
