We’re an hour away from kickoff at MetLife Stadium for a Week 5 battle between a pair of 2-2 teams. This afternoon, the Minnesota Vikings hit the road for the second consecutive week to battle the New York Giants, hoping to get back on the right track after a pretty awful performance in Week 4.
Here is everything you need to know about today’s game.

Three Keys
1) Open up the offense a bit - The Vikings want to run the football. We know that. But in the event that the Giants are keying on the run as much as the Bears were last Sunday, the Vikings need to have the ability to get the ball down the field through the air. Kirk Cousins has a ton of weapons at his disposal, and he needs to be given the opportunity to take advantage of them.
2) Get after Daniel Jones - The Giants’ rookie quarterback has won his first two starts, but the Vikings’ defense is the best that he’s faced so far by a pretty significant margin. Mike Zimmer and George Edwards should be able to throw some things out there that he hasn’t seen before, and hopefully the Vikings can keep Jones contained well enough so that he can’t convert with his legs. If the Vikings can rattle Jones a bit, it could make their path to victory that much clearer.
3) Win on special teams - We say this one a lot, but that’s because it’s almost always true. In the NFL, the margin for error is not large, no matter the relative talent level of the two teams involved. The Vikings have enough things to worry about without potentially giving the Giants extra possessions on their home field. Dan Bailey, Britton Colquitt, and Marcus Sherels could be difference makers in this one.

We’ll have an Open Thread up at the start of each quarter, so keep your eyes open for those.
With that, let’s hope for a big victory for the Vikings in this one. I’m tired of listening to negativity.
