Merry Tuesday, everyone!
Wow, a busy Monday night watching baseball games while trying to watch the Browns continue the Implosion Tour v.2019. Man, we complain about our quarterback’s propensity to give the ball to the other team, Baker Mayfield is going to commit a career’s worth of turnovers in tonight’s game alone.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Luft Krigare posted Vikings vs. Giants - GMG in the Raw! - Ep 067.
Ted dropped by for a Week 5 Ted Talk.
Wludford has notes from Sunday’s Vikings-Giants game.
Danielle Hunter tied a significant NFL record on Sunday, and it’s likely that he’ll soon have sole ownership of said record.
Other Vikings and NFL news, other sports news, and random oddities and annoyances:
From CBS Sports, the Redskins have fired head coach Jay Gruden. The move came as a surprise to absolutely nobody, unless you include those who were surprised that it took this long to happen. From the rumor mill at CBS, there are whisperings that Mike Tomlin is a target of the Redskins, as are two assistants. Someone should tell the Redskins FO that Tomlin is still coaching the Steelers, it would be difficult for him to take on another head coaching gig, but it would be a great opportunity for him to rack up some frequent flyer miles.
There is a high amount of activity expected prior to this year’s trading deadline, and CBS Sports lists six teams who are expected to be the most active.
From USA Today, the Titans released K Cairo Santos after he missed four field goals in a 14-7 loss to the Bills. The Titans are expected to sign K Cody Parkey. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because he kicked (poorly) for the Bears last year, and booted the double-doink miss that could have advanced the Bears to the NFCCG. “It can’t get any worse”. Oh yes, yes it can.
I just watched the Braves blow a lead in a game where a win would have won the series. Now they will play game 5 to decide whether they or the Cardinals will move on to the next round. The game is just a formality, the Braves will obviously be the victors. The Twins...........man, they’d better win at least one game against these guys. It ain’t looking good so far, but hopefully they can pull off some of that comeback magic and at least show a pulse in this series.
We come to today’s media selection:
Here’s a great one from one of the greatest there ever was. It’s All Along the Watchtower by Mr. Jimi Hendrix. Enjoy!
We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t tip the cows don’t forget to tip your waitress, and try the optimism.
