Another starter takes a seat

The second injury report of the week is out for the Minnesota Vikings, and it features yet another starter being added to the “Did Not Practice” list.

Safety Anthony Harris, who was limited in Wednesday’s practice with a groin injury, sat out of Thursday’s practice entirely. He joins Adam Thielen, Linval Joseph, and Josh Kline in that category. Harris has started every game for the Vikings this season next to Harrison Smith.

Here’s the full injury report from Thursday’s practice session. Players who have seen their status changed since Wednesday are noted, while all others are at the same level of participation as they were during Wednesday’s practice.

Did Not Participate

  • S Anthony Harris (groin, downgrade from limited)
  • DT Linval Joseph (knee)
  • G Josh Kline (concussion)
  • WR Adam Thielen (hamstring)

Limited Participation

  • S Andrew Sendejo (groin)

Full Participation

  • CB Mackensie Alexander (groin, upgrade from limited)
  • FB C.J. Ham (ankle)
  • LB Eric Kendricks (hip)
  • DE Ifeadi Odenigbo (shoulder)
  • CB Xavier Rhodes (elbow)
  • DT Shamar Stephen (knee, upgrade from DNP)
  • DT Armon Watts (knee)
  • CB Trae Waynes (ankle)

During his Thursday press conference, Mike Zimmer apparently said that Thielen, Joseph, and Kline all “have a chance” of playing against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. I would be absolutely stunned if we saw any of them when the Vikings take the field on Sunday, let alone all of them. My guess is that, when we get the Friday injury report, all three of those players will be listed as “out.”

We’ll be keeping an eye out for that Friday report, and once we have it we will bring it to you as soon as possible.
