We’ve made it to game day, ladies and gentlemen, as your Minnesota Vikings are set to play host to the Denver Broncos in their final game before the bye week. We are less than an hour away from the festivities getting started, so let’s run down all of the important information you need before we get started here.
Date and Time: Sunday, 17 November, 2019, noon Central time
Location: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota
Television Coverage: WCCO-4 in the Twin Cities, CBS affiliates across the nation, DirecTV Ch 708
Radio Coverage: Vikings Radio Network, Sirius Channel 81, XM Channel 225, SiriusXM App Channel 819
Line: Vikings -10, Over/Under 40
Chris’ Prediction: Vikings 27, Broncos 17
Three keys
1) Don’t get cocky - Yes, the Broncos come into this one as a heavy underdog, relying on an untested quarterback making his first ever NFL road start. Having said that, the Vikings can not overlook this team. They need to continue showing the intensity that they’ve shown all season long so that they can secure a victory and go into the bye at 8-3. I don’t think Mike Zimmer will let his team sleepwalk through this one.
2) Get after the young quarterback - Brandon Allen is making just his second NFL start, and his first start outside of Denver. Mike Zimmer’s defenses have generally been very good against rookie quarterbacks (with a couple of exceptions), and the Broncos have allowed a lot of quarterback sacks this season. That should add up to a long day for the young quarterback, and that would go a long way towards a Minnesota win.
3) Keep feeding Dalvin Cook - Even with Kirk Cousins playing as well as he is, this offense still runs through #33. Cook is truly becoming a player that opposing defenses have no answer for, and I don’t think the Broncos have an answer for him, either. If the Broncos do sell out to stop Cook, then the rest of the team needs to take advantage, but I think Cook is in for another big afternoon today.

That’s all the information you need to get yourself prepared for today’s big game, folks. We’ll have a new Open Thread come up at the start of each quarter, so keep an eye out for that and move the discussion accordingly.
This is the last time we’ll see the Vikings on the field for about two weeks, folks. . .here’s hoping that the team can put together a win and position themselves for the stretch run.
