Minnesota Vikings at Kansas City Chiefs: Inactive lists for both teams

Who will be sitting this one out?

NFL: Green Bay Packers at Kansas City Chiefs Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

We are ninety minutes away from kickoff at Arrowhead Stadium, and the Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs have both released their inactive lists in advance of this afternoon’s Week 9 clash. Let’s take a look at who will be “down” for both sides in this one.

We start, as always, with the visiting team.

Minnesota Vikings

  • S Marcus Epps
  • DT Jalyn Holmes
  • C Brett Jones
  • DT Hercules Mata’afa
  • G Dru Samia
  • OT Olisaemeka Udoh
  • DT Armon Watts

After missing the Thursday Night Football contest against the Washington Redskins and coming off of a mini-bye, wide receiver Adam Thielen is active and back in the starting lineup this afternoon.

Holton Hill is also active in his first game back, with Epps being down to give him a spot. Jayron Kearse, he of the DUI and gun charges during the mini-bye, is also active this afternoon.

And now, on to the home team.

Kansas City Chiefs

  • DE Frank Clark
  • G Laurent Duvernay-Tardif
  • OT Eric Fisher
  • CB Kendall Fuller
  • QB Patrick Mahomes
  • DE Alex Okafor
  • RB Darwin Thompson

As expected, the reigning NFL Most Valuable Player will be watching today’s game from the sideline. Matt Moore will get the start at quarterback, and he will be backed up by Chad Henne, who the Chiefs brought back from injured reserve earlier this week.

Clark being out is significant as well, as he’s proven to be a very solid pass rusher for the Chiefs since they acquired him from Seattle. Should make things a little easier on the Minnesota offensive line.

Those are your inactive lists for today’s game, folks. We will have our Open Thread for the first quarter of play up and running for you at approximately 11:00 AM Central time.
