Yesterday, the Vikings lost a game that they certainly should have won

Mornin’ everyone,

Sigh, well, that sucked. The team played well enough to win yesterday, despite another bad showing by the quarterback, but in the end, they didn’t win. The Chiefs, with their backup QB under center, pulled it out with a last second field goal. The Vikings had two opportunities to put the game away if they could have run the clock down, but the offense wasn’t able to do anything, zero, zip, notta. Cousins had some nice plays during the game, including two laser-like touchdown passes. Cousins also had some really, really ugly throws throughout the game, and some other plays where you wondered what he was thinking. There were other mistakes made by other players and units throughout the game, but as a percentage of contribution to the game being a loss, I’d say Cousins had the highest, by quite a margin. Oh, and the officiating was horrific. That OPI on Treadwell was laughable, and there were many other calls throughout the game that caused foul words to emanate loudly from my garage.

The good news from yesterday is that the Vikings didn’t lose any ground in the division. Every division rival also lost yesterday (the Packers loss made me feel better, because I wasn’t in a very good mood after the Vikings loss), so the division looks the same, with the exception of the loss column being one higher for each team. The outcome of the game sucked, but the Vikings are still in good position for the playoffs, and to win the division. I think the December 23rd game may be the game that decides the NFC North. SKOL!
