Merry Tuesday, everyone!
Another fine day is upon us in Vikings land, the grime from Sunday a little less noticeable than it was yesterday. Speaking of which, I may owe an apology or two. I logged on yesterday afternoon, and saw some disagreements with what I said (although most of them were arguments against things I didn’t say), but I replied to some legitimate arguments, and looking back, my replies came across with much more snark than I intended, so to Raa and a couple others, my apologies. I still say Cousins played a s****y game, but to each their own. Who cares, let’s kill the Cowboys and we can go into the bye week a little happier.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Zim Tzu doesn’t play percentages, the latest from the Warrior Poet, told by Ted as only he can tell it.
Chris asks “Why can’t the Vikings win outdoors on grass?”. Maybe it’s a combination of apathy & the munchies? Get it? On grass? Nevermind.
The Vikings aren’t sure when Adam Thielen will be back, from Chris. I say let him sit until he’s ready, don’t rush him back, let him heal up so he’s ready for the playoffs.
Ted is here to have a Ted talk, week 9.
Luft Krigare posted Vikings vs. Chiefs - GMG in the Raw!
Other Vikings and NFL news, other sports news, and random oddities and annoyances:
Over at Vikings.com, catch Coach Zimmer’s Monday presser, Wobby breaks open the Monday Morning Mailbag, and they talk about the causes of the red zone problems on After Further Review.
One step forward and two steps back (aaaaaand I just came up with my media selection). From NFL.com, a day after getting their first win, the Dolphins lost their running back for four games as Mark Walton was suspended for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
From ABC, Jermaine Whitehead has been released by the Browns, and also had his Twitter account suspended by Twitter, after sending.....twits....or whatever you call them...., some of which taken to be death threats toward fans who were critical of his play in the Browns’ latest loss. One of the twits read “Imma kill you b---- ... that’s on blood,”. Whoops, mahybe want to have a shower & calm down before jumping on social media. Not a good idea to read Twitter in the locker room right after a game, and definitely not a good idea to respond to fans on Twitter whilst in the locker room right after a game. Goofball.
I hope this link works. As of the time of me writing this, the Cowboys are ahead of the Giants by 5 with a little over 9 minutes to go, and I won’t be awake for the ending, so I hope the link takes you to the final score. If not, you probably already know it. I tried.
We come to today’s media selection:
Here’s some good ol’ 80s country for you. This is from the Desert Rose Band, enjoy!
We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
- No discussion of politics or religion
- No feeding of the trolls
- Leave the gender hatred at the door
- Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
- Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
- No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
- If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
- While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t tip the cows don’t forget to tip your waitress, and try to back away from the ledge, they’re 6-3.
