Vikings Thursday injury report: A couple of additions to the DNP list

Including one potentially big one

The Minnesota Vikings have released their second injury report for the week, and there are a couple of pretty significant changes, specifically as it pertains to downgrades in status.

The first one has to do with defensive tackle Linval Joseph, who was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice but sat out on Thursday. There was this tidbit from Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune regarding that.

Well, that sounds. . .less than promising. Particularly considering the Vikings have a date with Ezekiel Elliott coming here in a few days.

Also not practicing today was cornerback Trae Waynes. Waynes was listed as limited on Wednesday with a hip issue, but his absence today is being called “not injury related.” Not totally sure what that means, but hopefully we’ll find out.

In addition, Andrew Sendejo was supposed to have his first practice since re-signing with the team today. . .but he’s already dealing with a groin issue. So there’s that.

Here is the complete injury report for the Vikings today:

Did Not Participate

  • DT Linval Joseph (knee, downgrade from full participation)
  • S Andrew Sendejo (groin, new addition to injury report)
  • WR Adam Thielen (hamstring)
  • CB Trae Waynes (hip/non-injury, downgrade from limited)

Limited Participation

  • FB C.J. Ham (ankle, upgrade from did not practice)
  • CB Mike Hughes (knee, new addition to injury report)
  • DE Ifeadi Odenigbo (shoulder, upgrade from did not practice)
  • DE Stephen Weatherly (groin)

Full Participation

  • LB Eric Kendricks (hip)
  • DT Shamar Stephen (knee)

With that, we have a couple of pretty significant situations to keep an eye on tomorrow with Adam Thielen’s status not yet having been determined (but he’s probably going to be out) and now the Linval Joseph issue. Once the final injury report drops tomorrow, we will have all the info right here for you.
