We’re through one quarter of play at Dignity Health Sports Park, and your Minnesota Vikings lead the Los Angeles Chargers .
The Minnesota Vikings took the opening kickoff and went 10 plays for 75 yards with QB Kirk Cousins going 6 for 6 and finished with a touchdown throw from Cousins to TE Irv Smith. Since we don’t get nice things, Dan Bailey hit the upright to miss the PAT.
After receiving the ensuing kickoff, the Chargers were able to convert two third and longs, but had to settle for a 41 yard field goal for a drive of 10 plays, 62 yards.
Vikings got a first down, but had to punt, an excellent play on special teams to down the ball at the four.
Hard work leads to good results because Danielle Hunter caused a fumble by the Chargers.
Vikings took over at the 11 and but are facing a 4th and 6 at their own eight.
Just a quick note from me: I’ll be doing the recaps and posting the quarter threads today, I’m doing this while I’m at work following the game on my Ipad. I don’t know how much detail I’ll be able to get into the recaps, but the threads will post will post prior to the beginning of each quarter.
