Vikings Friday injury report: Dalvin Cook and Eric Kendricks OUT against Bears

Not that it’s going to matter much

Update: After not being listed on the injury report on Wednesday or Thursday, Mackensie Alexander was limited in Friday’s practice with a knee issue, hence his “questionable” designation on the final injury report. We have updated our story to reflect this.

We’ve got the final injury report for your Minnesota Vikings as they head into their regular season finale against the Chicago Bears at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday afternoon. With the revelation that the Vikings are likely going to be resting their starters this week, this list might not mean that much, but we’ll go over the report anyway. (knee knee)

Here’s the whole thing:

Out

  • RB Dalvin Cook (chest)
  • LB Eric Kendricks (quadriceps)

Questionable

  • CB Mackensie Alexander (knee)
  • S Jayron Kearse (foot)
  • RB Alexander Mattison (ankle)

Not given injury designation

  • CB Xavier Rhodes (knee)
  • DT Shamar Stephen (ankle)

Alexander has not been listed on the team’s injury reports prior to today, so we’ll have to see exactly what injury the team is listing him as having.

Again, we expected Cook and Kendricks to be out with their injuries for this one before the list came out, but the injury report for this week is not going to be terribly important. There are going to be a lot of guys that won’t be listed on the report or deactivated on Sunday that aren’t going to play, as the Vikings will want to keep all their key personnel healthy for their Wild Card matchup on the first weekend of January.

Once we get clarification on the Alexander injury, we’ll update this story, but that’s what we have for now as far as the Vikings’ final regular season injury report of 2019 is concerned.
