It took all 60 minutes of Game 256 to figure it out, but we finally know where the Minnesota Vikings are going for Wild Card weekend.
Thanks to the San Francisco 49ers winning the NFC West and clinching the #1 seed in the NFC playoffs with a victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football, they pushed the New Orleans Saints down to the #3 seed in the NFC, meaning that’s the Vikings’ destination for Wild Card Weekend.
The game between the Vikings and the Saints will take place on Sunday, 5 January, at the Superdome in New Orleans. The NFL has given the Vikings the best possible scenario in this case, as the game will kick off at noon Central time.
Here is the rest of the schedule for Wild Card weekend:
- Saturday, 4 January, 3:30 PM Central - Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans
- Saturday, 4 January, 7:15 PM Central - Tennessee Titans at New England Patriots
- Sunday, 5 January, 12:00 PM Central - Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints
- Sunday, 5 January, 3:40 PM Central - Seattle Seahawks at Philadelphia Eagles
If the Vikings should get past the Saints, they will travel to take on the 49ers in the Divisional Playoffs.
So, now we know who the Vikings will be playing and when. We’ll have plenty of coverage of this week’s game right here, folks, and we hope you’ll be here for it!
