After a one-year absence, the Minnesota Vikings are making their return to the NFL playoffs. They’ve got a pretty tough assignment right out of the gates, as they’ll hit the road to take on the New Orleans Saints.
The Saints were in line for a first-round bye until the San Francisco 49ers won on Sunday Night Football, and that pushed the Saints down to the #3 spot. The Vikings have been locked into the #6 spot for a couple of weeks, and if this team wants to make a miracle run to the Super Bowl, they’ll have to win three games outside of the comfy confines of U.S. Bank Stadium.
Minnesota opens this one as a 7-point underdog to the Saints.
Kickoff for this one is scheduled for Sunday, 5 January, at the best possible time for the Minnesota Vikings. . .noon Central time. Hopefully this means we’ll get “noon game Kirk Cousins” and can pull off the upset.
The game will be aired nationwide on the FOX family of networks.
