3 Quick Mocks

Using Fanspeak's mock draft tool i decided to do 3 quick mocks for fun. In each mock I will be assuming aside from 1 move Free agency was rather calm. The 3 moves coinciding with each mock draft are:

- Re-signing Anthony Barr

- Re-signing Sheldon Richardson

- Signing Matt Paradis

All 3 moves I would say are realistic, just maybe not more than one together. So that's what led to the 3 seperate mocks.

Im using Fanspeaks mock tool, 7 rounds, the most recent (top of list) prospect list, and on difficult. I don't have the premium, and while i fully expect multiple trades come draft day(s), i won't really be making any. This is all just for fun, but anywho... lets roll.

Sheldon Richardson re-signed Mock:

1st round - Cody Ford - OG/OT - Oklahoma.

2nd round - Mack Wilson - LB - Alabama

3rd round - Jaylon Ferguson - EDGE - Lousiana State

4th round - Beau Benzschawel - OG - Wisconsin

6th round - Terry Beckner - DT - Iowa

6th round - Derrick Baity - CB - Kentucky

7th round - Andrew Beck - TE - Texas Tech

7th round - Darius Slayton - WR - Aurburn

Loved how the first couple rounds played out. Ford is an immediate starter at either guard spot, and down the road if O'neill moves to LT Ford could be a candidate for RT. Mack Wilson and Devin Bush were available in round 2, and i needed to grab one to replace Barr. Either would have been fine but I went with the taller lineback who is probably a bit better in coverage. The NCAA sack leader falls to Minny in the 3rd. Jaylon Ferguson is a big dude who can get to the QB. However, he is 23 and is probably closer to a finished product than most edge defenders taken before him. Regardless, he is young and can always improve. I think Everson Griffen is a cap casualty or maybe traded. With Weatherly than in line to start, we would need a solid backup - and Ferguson would probably need one of the least amount of times to translate to the NFL. Beau could really end up anywhere in the draft. He played very well at Wisconsin (while still not being a top 5 IOL in the draft) and then layed an egg at the Senior Bowl - being one of the worst out there. In round 4 im willing to bet on years of film rather than one bad week at Mobile. Maybe he finds a way into a starting role, or perhaps he maxes at valuable backup, either way im willing to take that risk. IDK a whole lot about Beckner, i've seen him as high as the 4th so perhaps he isn't there - but regardless, we need depth on the line and he seemed like a value pick. The other 6th rounder was the highest ranked cornerback, we need some competition and so i grabbed him. Dont know either of the 7th's but grabbed 2 pass catchers for depth/competition, really substitute anything you want there.

Anthony Barr re-signed mock:

1st round - TJ Hockenson - TE - Iowa

2nd round - Garret Bradbury - IOL - Miss St.

3rd round - Dre'mont Jones - DT - Ohio St.

4th round - Andy Isabella - WR - Umass

6th round - Jalen Jelks - EDGE - Oregon

6th round - Kendall Joseph - LB - Clemson

7th round - Mark Fields - CB - Clemson

7th round - Ryan Connely - LB Wisconsin

Hockenson gives us a legit blocking tight end and the capability to run 2 TE sets. Bradbury immediately fills an IOL spot (whether he takes C and moves Elflein to OG or however they need to do it). Dre'mont Jones was sitting there in round 3, and while it could definitely happen with the DT depth, my guess is he is scooped up late 2nd early 3rd. If you think that is unrealistic substitute Gerald Willis for him since he was also available. Isabella is a hot commodity after a strong showing recently, but he is still a relative unknown other than some crazy hands and highlights for a smaller program. However, nabbing him in the 4th gets rid of the need for a WR 3 via FA and gives us one of the better trios of WR and TE duos in the league. Don't know a whole lot of who i took on day 3, but I mainly just focused on loading up on defensive players with potential since Days 1 and 2 were offense heavy. Focused on big school with proven football programs above all else really.

Matt Paradis Signed Mock:

1st - Cody Ford - OG/OT - Oklahoma

2nd - Hakeem Butler - WR - Iowa St.

3rd - Gerald WIllis - DT - Miami

4th - Amani Hooker - S - Iowa

6th - TJ Edwards - LB - Wisconsin

6th - Keenan Brown - TE - Texas St

7th - LJ Scott - RB - Mich St.

7th - Martez Ivey - OL - Florida

Soooo complete shift in Viking mentality. Instead of playing great defense (which they could still very much do even without Barr/Sheldon or their replacements) lets just put up 35 a game yea? A questionable O-line is now a strength, their WR trio easily the best in the league, and a better line and passing game only helps Dalvin Cook. Ford - immediate starter. Butler - immediate number 3 WR with insane potential. Willis is pushed to the 3rd by a stacked DL class but is normally a roudn 2 type of player so a good get in 3. Can be an immediate rotation piece or even start right out of the gate. I love our Safety tandem in Harris and the Hitman, but Harry is 30 and while he plays a game that should age like a fine win, its never a bad thing to have a high quality backup. Plus - while Harris was great last year, he sort of came out of knowhere after years of being just OK or pretty good, so if he regresses we have some depth. TBH i dont think Edwards lasts until the 6th. He has the potential to be a very good 2 down linebacker, but its for that very reason (he is only a 2 down LB) he could drop a bit. I do like him a lot though, so just hypothetically think if he is there in the 5th we package a 5th next year with that 6th to nab him. IDK anything about Keenan Brown but i saw his name on twitter the other day so he must be pretty good. Scott was the only RB whose name i recognized. I've seen him in the 5th and 6th in some mocks so maybe he isn't there, but substitute any realsitic RB because i think drafting one late would make sense to compete with Roc, Boone and maybe Murray if hes back. Martez Ivey is being flamed on any site i see his name, idk why i haven't read any of it. I know he was a rather high recruit out of HS and wasn't great at Florida at times. But i regonized the name and i mean he has to be being mentioned for some reason yea? Maybe we can find that talent that made him special way back.

There ya go! Love them? Hate them? Want me to delete my SN account? Let me know! SKOL
