Ladies and gentlemen, we are just about ready for the first weekend of action in the Alliance of American Football! Yes, the AAF will start its inaugural season in less than half an hour with a pair of games that are being televised on CBS.

Yes, the big CBS, not the CBS Sports Network (though that’s a channel some of the games will be on as the season rolls along). It’s a prime-time opportunity for the new league to show off.

There will be two games tonight and two games on Sunday. The two games for tonight will feature the Atlanta Legends visiting the Orlando Apollos and the San Antonio Commanders hosting the San Diego Fleet.

These two games will be taking place at the same time, kicking off at 7:00 PM Central on your local CBS affiliate. Which game will be showing in your area? Well, the folks from 506 Sports have you covered!

It looks like most of us will be getting San Diego at San Antonio.

These games will also be streaming live on CBS All-Access. You can also follow the games on the AAF app on either iOS or Android devices. The app is described by AAF founder and CEO Charlie Ebersol as “Madden meets Angry Birds,” which is certainly. . .a thing, I guess.

The two Sunday games will feature the Birmingham Iron playing host to the Memphis Express at 3:00 PM Central time. That game will be on the CBS Sports Network. The final game of Week 1 in the AAF will see our adopted team, the Salt Lake Stallions, traveling to take on the Arizona Hotshots. That game will kick off at 7:00 PM Central on Sunday, and will be televised on the NFL Network.

This post will serve as the “Open Thread” for all of this weekend’s AAF action. We’ll have to see if a separate post for Stallions games is warranted in the future. For now, though, here’s hoping that we can all enjoy the first week of AAF action with our fellow Minnesota Vikings fans!
