We are already halfway through the inaugural season of the Alliance of American Football and, to borrow a phrase, it appears as though we may have. . .
(•_•) ( •_•)>⌐■-■ (⌐■_■)
. . .backed the wrong horse.
Yes, our adopted team, the Salt Lake Stallions, finished the first half of the season with a 1-4 record, tied for the worst in the AAF. On Saturday, they’ll kick off Week 6 as they take on the other team with a 1-4 record, the Memphis Express. Both of these teams lost last week, and this is now a battle to avoid being the unquestioned worst team in the AAF. This is a home game for the Stallions, so hopefully that will be an advantage for them.
This game will kick off on Saturday at 3:00 PM Central time, and will be broadcast on B/R Live. It will also, to my understanding, be shown on the AAF’s website.
The late game on Saturday will feature the league’s lone remaining undefeated team, the Orlando Apollos (5-0) will play host to the Arizona Hotshots. Arizona got off to a hot start, winning their first two games, but have since dropped three in a row to fall to 2-3.
This game will kick off at 7:00 PM Central time, and will be shown on the NFL Network.
The early game on Sunday will also be in the South, as the Atlanta Legends (2-3) playing host to the San Antonio Commanders (3-2). The Legends looked rough in the early going, losing their first three games, but have recovered to win their last two. The Commanders also enter this one on a two-game winning streak.
Start time for this one is 3:00 PM Central time, and will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.
The final game of the weekend once again takes us to the West Coast, as the Birmingham Iron (3-2) head out to take on the San Diego Fleet (3-2). The Iron looked like the best team in the league early on, but have dropped their last two games. The Fleet come into this one on a high after their last-minute win over Salt Lake last week.
Kickoff time for this one is 7:00 PM Central, and it will be shown on the NFL Network.
There’s your AAF schedule for Week 6, ladies and gentlemen. We’ll keep this post pinned up top for those of you that would like to talk about all the action with your fellow Minnesota Vikings fans.
