Among the other things that happened as the Minnesota Vikings returned to start their offseason program on Monday, wide receiver Adam Thielen officially signed the big contract extension that had been announced last week. He wasn’t the only Thielen to sign off on the deal, though.
Thielen brought the whole family with him to his contract signing, and after he finally put pen to paper, his son Asher got an opportunity to add his signature.
(Well, I don’t know if he signed the actual contract or anything, but they sure did let him think that he did.)
When everything was said and done, young Asher sealed the deal with a handshake from General Manager Rick Spielman, which was a pretty nice touch.
With this contract extension, Thielen is under contract to the Vikings through the 2024 season. I’m not sure how many more extensions Thielen is going to sign with the purple, but at least one of his youngsters got an opportunity to be a part of this one.
