One of the best moments of every NFL Draft season is getting to see the young men that are selected getting that life-changing call from the NFL team that selected them. Thanks to the Minnesota Vikings’ social media feed, we’re finally getting a little taste of that this morning.
The video begins with Rick Spielman declaring “that was close,” which would imply that they weren’t totally sure about whether or not they were going to get their guy or not. Then, we see Vikings’ college scout Pat Roberts getting on the phone and giving a call to Garrett Bradbury, who is at his draft party surrounded by friends and family.
From there, the phone goes to the man himself, General Manager Rick Spielman, who asks Bradbury if he’s ready to “come up to the north and be a Minnesota Viking.” The video then ends with the reaction from the folks in attendance at the Vikings’ draft party in Minneapolis, who reacted the way that I think most of us did.
I love seeing these videos, and I think a lot of other people do, too. I’m not sure if we’ll see them for any of the other Vikings’ draft selections, but it’s still always a nice thing to see.
