With their second-to-last pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have selected a wide receiver for the second pick in a row.

With Pick #247 in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have selected Olabisi Johnson, a wide receiver from Colorado State University.

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com had a fifth-round grade on Johnson, and compares him to current Oakland Raiders’ wide receiver Ryan Grant. Here’s what he had to say about Johnson.

Tough, consistent and dependable are terms scouts and coaches use in describing Johnson as a player. He is a very polished route runner, but his lack of top-end speed could limit his draft stock somewhat. His short-area footwork is solid, but he could really thrive as a big, zone-beater in space. Johnson’s football character, intelligence and core special teams ability give him a chance to find work early and eventually become a dependable WR3.

Johnson sounds like he’ll fit in with the Vikings’ receiving corps, and could be looking at time sooner rather than later.

Welcome to Minnesota, Olabisi!
