The NFL announced the entire 65-game slate of preseason football on Wednesday afternoon. Therefore, we now know who the Minnesota Vikings will be taking on as they tune up for their highly anticipated 2018 season. Here is their slate of games:

Minnesota Vikings 2019 Preseason Games

Week Opponent Home/Away
Week Opponent Home/Away
1 (Aug 8-12) New Orleans Saints Away
2 (Aug 18) Seattle Seahawks Home
3 (Aug 22-25) Arizona Cardinals Home
4 (Aug 29) Buffalo Bills Away

First up the week of August 8-12 will be a road game against the New Orleans Saints. A lot of familiar faces will presumably be in the Big Easy, including Teddy Bridgewater, Nick Easton, Latavius Murray, and Marcus Sherels.

Next up are the Seattle Seahawks on August 18. The game will be played at U.S. Bank Stadium and nationally televised at 7:00 PM CT on FOX. This will be the second consecutive season that the Vikings will host the Seahawks in the preseason and travel to Seattle for a regular season game.

For the All-Important Third Preseason Game™, the Vikings will take on the Arizona Cardinals in another home game game the week of August 22-25.

Finally, the Vikings will round out the preseason by traveling for a matchup against the Buffalo Bills on August 29 or 30. The fourth preseason game traditionally has the lowest stakes for starters and impact players, but always proves to be incredibly crucial for players fighting to make the final 53-man roster.

The exact times and dates for each the games that aren’t nationally televised will be announced at a later date. We do know that all preseason games can be viewed in the Twin Cities on FOX 9 and heard on Vikings Radio Network affiliates.

Last year, the preseason schedule was announced on April 11 and the regular season was announced on April 21. So we should know the entire slate of games that count for the Vikings just before the draft within the next couple weeks.

We’re only four months away from real, live NFL football games! (Even if they don’t technically count.) Get excited!
