Minnesota Vikings 2020 Mock Draft

New, comments

Just when you thought it was safe, this way too early 2020 Mock Draft reminds you that it is never over!

Well, the draft is over and the 3 day Rookie Minicamp is over too. I liked the draft for the most part but obviously would have done some things differently. I really wanted Simmons but getting Bradbury is OK too. In the 3rd round though, I wanted Hakeem Butler. Mattison is nice but I will always look back on this pick.

But this about next year’s draft. Who could be some of the players the Vikings might look at? Which current players may not be here next year because they did not get an extension or could get released? What does the cap space reveal in likely moves?

According to overthecap the Vikings have only $125,205 in cap space in 2020. If they move on from Griffen they get 13.1 mil in cap space. If they move on from Reiff they get 8.8 mil in cap space. If they do these two moves it gets them to $21,440,205 in cap space.

They may look to modify Joseph’s deal since he will be 32 in 2020.

Another move that can get them huge savings would be to extend Cousin’s which I could detail some options but don’t want to have this thread devolve into another Cousins debate.

So, I am looking at another offensive lineman and a defensive end early next year. A corner could be back in the mix too. The wide receiver class is suppose to be really good next year and it may be time to go back to the well there depending on who some of these other young receivers do this year.

Wanogho is suppose to have run a 4.64 forty but let’s say he runs closer to 4.78. That is incredible and he seems like he could be a perfect fit athletically for the Vikings scheme. Not sure how much zone blocking concepts they utilize at Auburn but I think they use some.

Cooper looks like he could be ready to break out this year and is a leader on their team.

He is the fastest player on the team and may not last this long. He is also a leader which is kind of a theme here.

A big safety and big hitter. Kind of like Sendejo which I think Zimmer likes.

I will see how this one does next year. I think that a few of these players likely go earlier.

I can’t see the mock draft I did last year because SB Nation only shows me posts I did from 2012 and before. Weird.

I think this was my way too early mock from last year ...
