Good Morning!

Not much Vikings news which isn’t a bad thing considering this time of year professional athletes that show up on the news tend to be on police blotters. The USWNT plays France today in the World Cup quarterfinals at 2pm CT. I know that fact interests about three of us, but annoys many more which is why I keep posting soccer news. I got home later than usual last night, so let’s do this. Time to carry on with our news and links open thread full of beer recommendations, nap strategies, crock pot and smoker recipes. Drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and go ahead and leave work early, it’s Friday.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris has the news that the Minneapolis Miracle confirmed to be in Madden 20.

Joe Buck calls the Minneapolis Miracle his favorite call of all time

Vikings news from other sources:

From Mike Pereira, former Vice President of Officiating in the National Football League and current Rules Analyst at FOX Sports, joined Mike Wobschall ‘On The Line’ to help break down the much-discussed changes when it comes to replay and review heading into the 2019 season.

Wobby opened his Monday morning mailbag to discuss Cousins using play action, Danielle Hunter’s alignment on defense, the team’s morale heading into camp and more.

Lunch break: Terrell Davis describes Kubiak’s potential influence on Dalvin Cook.

Judd Zulgad at says HC Mike Zimmer has team right where he wants them.

League news:

Ryan Shazier: ‘I still want to make the Hall of Fame’

Jack Del Rio: No idea we were drafting Blaine Gabbert.

Bengals rookie OT Jonah Williams likely to miss season with a torn labrum.

We come to today’s media selection: Mafia Meeting - SNL

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waiter, try the purple koolaid and Welcome Aboard!
