The Minnesota Vikings had a hole on the 90-man roster following the waiving of running back Roc Thomas earlier on Monday, and that spot has already been filled.
According to the team’s website, they have signed guard Tiano Pupungatoa to the 90-man roster.
Pupungatoa played his college ball at South Dakota State University, and this past season was named an all-FCS Third Team player at guard, as well as First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference.
Pupungatoa was a three-year starter for the Jackrabbits, who wound up finishing third in this year’s final FCS polls.
The 6’4”, 310-pound Pupungatoa now has an opportunity to fight for a spot on the offensive line for the Vikings, who will definitely have some depth spots to fill at the guard position with the starters seemingly in place.
Honestly, beyond what I’ve been able to find online here, I don’t know a great deal about Tiano Pupungatoa. Are there any Jackrabbit fans out there that can give us a little more information?
