The NFL Network’s Top 100 of 2019 list continued on last night, and the man that triggers the Minnesota Vikings’ offense found his way onto the list.
Kirk Cousins, going into his second year as the signal caller for the Vikings, is on the list at #78. This is a bit of a bump up for Cousins from last year’s list, as before the 2018 season he checked in at #94.
Cousins did have a pretty solid statistical season for the Vikings in 2018, as he reached the 30-touchdown plateau for the first time in his career, and compiled the second-highest yardage total of his career while completing a career-high 70.1% of his passes.
Yes, we know how things ended for the Vikings in 2018, but while Cousins was a part of it, it’s really difficult to make the argument that he was the reason for the Vikings taking a step back from their outstanding 2017 season.
There’s also every reason to believe that he’s going to improve in 2019, given a new scheme on offense and some improvement on the offensive line.
What do you think of Kirk Cousins’ ranking on this list, folks? Is this about the right spot for him?
