Ladies and gentlemen, the long, dark tea time of the offseason is officially over, and we have made it to the start of the 2019 NFL season.
Well, the preseason, anyway.
Yes, the Minnesota Vikings (and 31 less important NFL teams) have officially started Training Camp in preparation for the 2019 season, one that should be a very exciting one for our favorite football team. We’re going to put all of our Training Camp stories here in one place for you.
Camp will run from today, 26 July, through 16 August. Here is a look at the preseason schedule for the Vikings:
- Friday, 9 August - Preseason Game #1 at New Orleans Saints (FOX 9, 7:00 PM Central)
- Sunday, 18 August - Preseason Game #2 vs Seattle Seahawks (FOX 9, 7:00 PM Central)
- Saturday, 24 August - All-Important Preseason Game #3™ vs Arizona Cardinals (NFL Network, 12:00 PM Central)
- Thursday, 29 August - Preseason Game #4 at Buffalo Bills (FOX 9, 6:00 PM Central)
The 53-man roster will be finalized less than 48 hours after the final preseason contest, as teams must cut down from 90 to 53 players by 3:00 PM Central time on Saturday, 31 August. The next day, teams can start claiming players that have been waived and constructing their practice squads.
Also, if any of the five players that the Vikings have placed on the PUP or NFI lists are still on those lists on 31 August, they will have to miss the first six games of the regular season. Hopefully that won’t be the case.
But, this is the place to go for all of your news on Minnesota Vikings Training Camp, ladies and gentlemen. Here’s hoping for a productive and healthy camp for our favorite football team.
