Merry Tuesday, everyone!
Hey, we made it through another day of training camp without any more major injuries, and that’s really the main thing you hope for this time of year. It’s nice to hear about the surprise standout performances, too, but to get through training camp with all the fellas still intact is the ultimate goal. It’s obviously too late for that now, with the injury to Bowers, but I’ll hope for no further injuries.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
The Vikings activated Brandon Zylstra from the PUP list, per Chris.
Ted was here with the latest from Zim Tzu, as he emerged from winter quarters.
Eric was on 740 The Fan to talk about Vikings training camp.
Chris has a training camp hub where you can keep up with the latest news from TCO Performance Center.
Other Vikings and NFL news, other sports news, and/or random oddities and annoyances:
From the Sporting News, while Ezekiel Elliot holds out of training camp, the Cowboys signed RB Alfred Morris.
SI.com has all the latest training camp news and rumors from around the league.
ESPN reports that NFL officials are to emphasize offensive holding this season. Oh great. I have a question. Why don’t they just emphasize calling the @%#^$# game by the rules? All of them.
We come to today’s media selection:
Okay, the beginning of this video made me want to break things, but then it gets pretty good, so give it a chance, and try not to break anything.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags\
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away\
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t tip the cows, and try keeping your hands off the waitress........and the bartender. Geez, you guys.
