Vikings add Tyler Catalina to offensive line mix

Not wine mix. That’s a different thing.

NFL: Washington Redskins at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

UPDATE: The corresponding move to add Catalina to the roster is the Vikings waiving guard Tiano Pupungatoa. Original story follows.

On a day when one offensive lineman was injured, the Minnesota Vikings have brought in another player at that position.

The Vikings have successfully claimed offensive lineman Tyler Catalina. Catalina was waived by the Washington Redskins on Wednesday when they signed Donald Penn.

Catalina was undrafted out of Georgia in 2017. He made the final roster that season and started two games at guard for Washington, appearing in five others. He missed the entire 2018 season with a shoulder injury.

Catalina also has the ability, from reports, to play guard or tackle. I suppose that makes him. . .

The Catalina Line Mixer.

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

(I apologize.)

We have not seen a corresponding move yet, but when we do we’ll pass it along.

Welcome to Minnesota, Tyler Catalina!
