Merry post-win Monday, everyone!
Hey, heck of a game on Friday, eh? I thought it went as well as you could expect the first preseason game to go. The first-team offense looked pretty good, the O-line seemed to function at a higher level than we’ve seen from them at this early stage in the preseason. Some guys who I thought stood out on offense and helped their chances at making the roster: Olabisi Johnson and Tyler Conklin. I’m also glad that Teddy looked good out there, I still say he’ll be back in purple soon.
The Vikings followed the win on Friday with a couple roster moves, and also a trade! The trade was with Baltimore for kicker Kaare Vedvick, and rumor has it that the Vikes gave up a 5th round pick for the kicker. I guess some of the rumblings we’ve been hearing out of camp regarding Dan Bailey’s accuracy, or lack thereof, were a cause of concern for the front office, and they made a move. Hey MarkSP18, waddya think of that trade?
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris shared the breaking news from Schefter that the Vikings acquired kicker Kaare Vedvick via a trade with the Ravens. Our friends at the Baltimore Beatdown also shared the news, with their own insight.
Everson Griffen gave Kirk Cousins an ultimatum, per Chris. Everson has as much love for minivans as I have.
The Vikings signed tackle Nate Wozniak and waived Tyler Catalina, per Chris.
Ted brought us the Stock Market Report: Saints.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t tip the cows, but do tip the bartender.
