We’re nearing kickoff at U.S. Bank Stadium for the All-Important Third Preseason Game™ between the Minnesota Vikings and the Arizona Cardinals. As we’ve said for the previous two preseason games, the teams aren’t required to put together an inactive list or anything, but the Vikings have released a list of players that won’t be suiting up for today’s game. Those players are as follows:
- DE Ade Aruna
- WR Jeff Badet
- DE Tashawn Bower (still on Non-Football Injury List)
- OT Aviante Collins
- CB Mike Hughes (still on Physically Unable to Perform List)
- DT Linval Joseph
- TE David Morgan (still on Physically Unable to Perform List)
- OT Brian O’Neill
Rashod Hill will once again start at right tackle in O’Neill’s place, and as I believe a lot of people have expressed, it might be time to start getting worried about our starting right tackle.
Shamar Stephen, who has missed the team’s first two preseason games, will apparently suit up for this one. Linval Joseph, who has returned to team drills, will not.
Badet suffered an injury during the week, so we’ll have to see who gets the first crack at kickoff returns with him out. There have been reports that Mike Boone could get some opportunities as a kick returner, which would be interesting.
But that’s your list of players that won’t be seeing any action for the Vikings this afternoon. We’ll have the Open Thread for the first half up and running at 11:00 AM Central. Join us, won’t you?
