Minnesota Vikings 2019 Cutdown Tracker

Now that Training Camp and the preseason are over, we’ve reached the point where all 32 National Football League clubs need to reduce their rosters from 90. . .or, in the current case of the Minnesota Vikings, 88. . .to the league-mandated 53-player limit. All of the cuts have to be made by 3:00 PM Central time on Saturday, 31 August.

As we’ve done over the past few years, we will be tracking all of the team’s roster cuts as they happen, as soon as we get information about them. We’ll also be updating the roster below as the team draws closer to the 53-man limit.

As things stand right now, there are still two players that are either on the Physically Unable to Perform or Non-Football Injury lists. They are defensive end Tashawn Bower and tight end David Morgan. If the team does not make a move to remove them from those lists by the 3:00 PM deadline, they will be forced to miss the first six games of the 2019 regular season, but they will not count against the 53-man roster limit.

In addition, cornerback Holton Hill is suspended for the first eight games of the season. If the team decides to keep him around, he will not count against the 53-man roster, either. So, technically, the Vikings could reduce the roster to 56 rather than 53 if they keep Hill and Bower and Morgan stay on their respective inactive lists.

With that, here is the current roster for the Vikings as things stand right now. As we get news of more cuts, the stories of those cuts will be added to this stream.
