While the Minnesota Vikings have already made a trade to get their roster moves started, they have also made their first official cut of the weekend.

According to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the Vikings have waived wide receiver Alexander Hollins.

Hollins was an undrafted free agent who played his college ball at Eastern Illinois. He was one of a handful of players that the Vikings brought in following their rookie tryouts around the time of their post-draft OTAs. In preseason action for the Vikings this season, he collected three receptions for 26 yards, and also had a one-yard run.

With the Vikings’ competition at wide receiver being as tough as it was, Hollins was always going to have a bit of an uphill fight to make the squad. Unfortunately for him, his time in Minnesota has come to an end.

We’re continuing to track all of the roster moves that the Vikings will make this weekend, as they get their roster down to the 53-man limit, with the deadline approximately 24 hours from now.
