Although Reshard Cliett had a strong training camp and was gaining momentum as a guy that was a potential surprise move, it wasn’t enough to make the final 53 man roster:
Enjoyed a couple chats with @ReshardCliett during #Vikings camp. Wishing the best for him moving forward. Had moments during practice and in games. Tough numbers game at LB.

Vikings are waiving LB Reshard Cliett per source. Sounds like they’re going with 5th round rookie Cameron Smith for one of those final spots. Curious to see if they keep 5 or 6 total beyond Barr, Kendricks, Gedeon and Wilson.

Although I agree with Courtney Cronin that the Vikings are going to go with Cameron Smith, I never really thought his roster spot was in any danger. The Vikes generally tend to favor rookie draft picks, and I thought Smith played well enough to earn a spot. But I did think Cliett was a darkhorse guy to be the 6th linebacker.
With the Isidora trade, that’s five guys that have been released or traded, and as we get more, we’ll be sure to pass them along. Follow all the moves right here, in our cutdown tracker.
